Well, you're in the good shoes to learn about it. There is TONS of tutorials out there about stock market, but I'll go ahead and answer the ones you post.
How does the stock market work?Orders come in through brokerage firms that are members of the exchange and flow down to floor brokers who go to a specific spot on the floor where the stock trades. At this location, known as the trading post, there is a specific person known as the specialist whose job is to match buyers and sellers.

www.dummies.com/how-to/content/stock-investing-for-dummies-cheat-sheet.htmlWhat are the basics i should know?Just about mainly how the stock are being traded, how much the charge is going to be, compare stocks (there are several kinds of them out there, from ETF to Dividends) to find which one you want best for good return - aka more money in return of your favor in time/choices of payment.
Where should I start?Just reading through internet about how stock market work and all that. There is a LOT of different terminology used, such as the difference between medical and technology terminology, stock have their own package of definition. But once you get to know how they work, how they trade, how they charge, and so on, there is quite a lot for the basic.
Now, game time!
The goal is buy less, sell more? That can be possible. The main game in the stock market is to buy stock at a low price (buy low) and then sell them at the high price (sell high.)
That isn't all though, you may want to "diversify" your stock, meaning you want to have different kinds of stock, so if something goes wrong, you have the other going good. So the more stock you get as they are doing good, it's better than just having 1 that does well.
Is it worth playing with stock market? Is it dangerous? It can be worth playing in the stock market. That's where a lot of peoples can make their money, even billionaire just sit at home playing in stock at 35 yrs old doing nothing but do anything they want. There are parents out there that use stock to make up extra money for college money for their kids. Most commonly used of the reason peoples use in the stock is to get enough money for retirement. So back at that 35 yrs old guy, he retired, just making money from stock market so he don't have to work anytime in rest of his life (once he achieve how much time he'll live + the money to cover all the budget yearly estimated wise and so on). LOL.
The dangerous one can be dangerous, if you get the bad stock. Let's say a company just started a new stock because the company is new. Peoples buy the stock and all that. Now if the company isn't doing well, their value of the stock could go down within the matter of reason. & here why I say it can go bad: If you buy a stock, and it keep dipping into the negative values where you can't sell your stock for good outcome, that's the loss of money. (Now, I am unsure about the rest of that, haven't been there to see it, but if you sell it at a lower price than what you buy, I guess you might as well end up paying for it but I don't know lol.) But when that happen, say hello to the bear market (negative stock values). - again, the terminology in this stock market arena is different.
Alright, next question.
Where I go to buy the stock?? Where I go to sell the stock? You can buy the stock from any company, or having a broker to do it for you, or you can sign up for an account online through a discount broker and made the trade yourself without calling in. There is a lot of ways, but be sure to pay attention and carefully research who you are going to select because there can be such scam out there, but the popular names is known and you can't miss it.
So to sell it, same as above.
Meanwhile, you can play in the stock market game to practice before actually buying any stock with real money. There are several of them out there.
